The Pipe Casting Shop will be upgraded with the replacement of cupola furnaces for induction furnaces, it will enable to improve the environmental situation highly, to reduce consumption indices for the scrap by 50 kg/t, ferroalloys by 10-15%, to prevent rejects of graphitized electrodes and refractories, to decrease the usage of natural gas. The installation of induction furnaces will give the possibility to provide sufficiently OJSC DMPZ and LLC Elektrostal with steel and iron cast products.
The furnace bay, the rolling mill bay and rolled product finishing area were completely repaired at the Rolling Mill Shop. The 5th stand was installed in the finishing group of the rolling mill 500/370 to improve the metal finishing, to master new sections and to enhance qualitative indices of the rolling. The horizontal rolling delivery guides were produced and mounted instead of the vertical ones "Shepf", the rolling delivery guides were displaced with the upgrading of rolling fields carrying out. The new discharge rolling table from the 5th stand to the cooling bed and new shears for sampling were mounted.
The construction of the 3rd bay of the discharging area is being finished, where grinding, sorting and packing of the rolled products of construction alloyed steel grades for the shipment for the customers of machine-building, automobile construction and railway car manufacturing will be carried out. These measures will enable to distribute rolled products according to orders. The bay is being equipped with the state-of-the-art ventilation system, lighting, gas and oxygen provision. Service rooms for the personal of the bay areas are being constructed. The new oblique-roll straitening machine and state-of-the-art weighing scales are planned to be mounted, they will enable to increase the straightening quality and to raise the measurement accuracy of the rolled product bundle weight before the shipment for the customer. In January LLC "Elektrostal" continued to improve steelmaking process, out-of-furnace steel treatment and casting of steel grades 55S2А, 60S2А and 35HGSA by using shrouded casting system against secondary oxidation during steel casting at CCM. QC-13 shrouded casting system against secondary oxidation between tundish and mold was supplied by Swiss company Interstop. Produced billets were rolled by OJSC "DMPZ" with achieving 2GP surface quality group (higher requirement to the surface quality for hot forging). Rolled material was shipped to consumers. As a result orders from the following consumers were received: On the 1st of December 2010 a new project "Business in METAL style" was launched. The project was initiated by DMPZ Management Board and carried out by Human Resources Department under the auspices of DonNTU Career Center for students. The main target of this program is to form personnel reserve from young specialists in metallurgy for iron and steel plants of the Managing Company. University Authorities, Deans of Faculties and Metallurgy Departments Chairmen met in the Career Center conference-hall. Teachers, tutors, representatives of student fraternities and wardens also were present. Roundtable conference allowed all participants to discuss freely all questions of interest. A.I. Serov, the Project Manager, make it clear to students that OJSC DMPZ is really interested in them as future employees and can provide excellent career perspective. The main thing is to take active part in the Project, to show one's worth, to be industrious and develop one's potential. During two weeks following the presentation over 180 application forms for participation in "Business in METAL style" project were received. All participants were divided into two batches for goal setting group training. Over 50 young energetic people joined the first training which took place on the 19th December. All of them yearn for career in the largest and most advanced Ukrainian iron and steel companies. The second training will be carried out in February. After testing the best students will be selected for educational program. ![]() Steel grades 55S2A, 60S2A and 35HGSA were produced using shrouded casting system against secondary oxidation during steel casting on CCM. Rolled material was shipped to consumers. ![]() Regular audit for Quality Management System ISO 9001:2008 was successfully passed. ![]() Rolling from standard sizes of 60S2A, 35HGSA and 25G2 steel grades was carried out: Round bars 16-60 mm; Flat bars from 30x6 up to 100x12. Flat bars 75x10, 65x10 were rolled and shipped to OJSC Sinelnikovo Spring Plant. Flat bars 90x10 and 90x12 were produced. Flat bars of 25G2 steel grade were rolled and shipped to Artyomovsk machine building factory "Vistec". All above mentioned steel grades and rolled products undergone mechanical testing and are in full compliance with GOST requirements. Range of products from alloyed steel will be expanded during July-August since production of new structural steel grades will be started. |
